Aldersbrook & Wanstead Riding for the Disabled Group

Aldersbrook & Wanstead Riding for the Disabled Group, based in Manor Park, London E12.

We need volunteers to help in two ways:

1) Committee members, to assist with general administration, publicity and fundraising activities.  Committee meetings are held in Manor Park approximately every three months.

2) Helpers, to lead the children's ponies for lessons.  The lessons take place in a covered riding arena at the riding school in Manor Park, on Wednesdays and Fridays at 2.00 pm during school term time.

The pupils come from a nearby school, accompanied by staff, and are mostly visually impaired.  The ponies are well-mannered. New helpers will receive appropriate training and must be willing to undertake a CRB check before working with the children.

If you are interested in helping please contact the secretary:

Council or housing association exchange

I am looking to arrange a Council house / flat exchange with a tenant living on the South-coast.  The ideal swap would be with someone who lives within 1 hours driving distance of Portsmouth.  I currently live in Surrey, just south of Guildford and I have a 1 bedroom, wheelchair accessible ground-floor flat.  It has a shower wet room with a seat and lots of grab rails and a lowered kitchen with a wheelchair height hob and sink.  I am a wheelchair user and have lived here for 15 years without assistance.

If you can help, or you would like more information, please  email canyouhelp@uhad2bthere.co.uk
